Manchester United vs West Ham, Premier League: Manchester United continues their impressive start to the Premier League season with a 2-1 victory over West Ham United at London Stadium.
The Red Devils were forced to come from behind after Said Benrahma’s deflected strike put the Hammers ahead. Cristiano Ronaldo responded with the equaliser to notch his fourth goal in three games since his return. The game appeared to be heading for a draw until former West Ham loanee Jesse Lingard curled home a fantastic strike to haunt David Moyes’ men. However, Luke Shaw’s handball offered a late chance for the home side to snatch a point from the penalty spot. Mark Noble entered the game from the bench to take the penalty but was denied by David de Gea, who produced a brilliant save to earn his team the win.
It was a close match from both sides. Both the side had equal chances of winning by the way they played. West ham on counterattacks and Manchester with its attacking power. West ham were the one to score the first goal.
Bahrama on 30th minute scored for West ham. The midfielder strikes behind the net after it got a deflection from Varane into the left bottom corner. Bowen made a good turn at the edge before releasing it for Bahrama. Bahrama took a touch and then fired it towards the goal and deflected in.
It was end-to-end stuff as being scored in the 30th minute west ham conceded in the 35th minute. Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up to score the goal. Fernandes Bended a dangerous cross in towards Ronaldo who headed in, but was saved by the keeper and rebounded again on Ronaldo’s feet for a score in the net. Ronaldo now has 4 goals in 3 games since his return for Manchester United.
The game Hanged at 1-1 at the break. There was no goal scored in the whole second half, both sides had chances but were not able to convert them into a goal. Jesse Lingard scored the winner for the Red Devils. Matic worked up the pass in the left inside channel for Jesse. He cuts it inside and curls it at the far post with his right feet away from the keeper into the back of the net.
Manchester United extended their run to 29 Premier League away games without defeat (W19 D10), the longest ever run without defeat on the road in English league history. 10 of these games have come in London, with the Red Devils winning six times and drawing four.
West Ham manager David Moyes has only won three of his 29 games against Manchester United in the Premier League (D7 L19), while he’s winless in the seven meetings since the Red Devils became one of his former clubs (D2 L5).
Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 14 away games in the Premier League when conceding first (W10 D4), including a 3-1 victory in this fixture last season.
