Chelsea plays a draw against Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea vs Burnley: Burnley celebrates late goal

Premier League: Matej Vydra’s late goal has denied Chelsea victory in their Premier League clash against Burnley, with the contest ending 1-1 at Stamford Bridge. Kai Havertz put the Blues ahead in the first half, converting from a fine cross from Reece James.

However, Chelsea failed to notch the second goal as Thiago Silva struck the post, while Nick Pope made a number of fine stops, including one to deny Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Clarets were rewarded for their resilience as Jay Rodriguez was smart to pick out Vydra with a header that allowed the forward to slot a strike past Edouard Mendy to earn his team a share of the spoils.

Chelsea was all over the game hardly any ball did come in Chelsea’s half. Chelsea took 24 shots but only 4 on target. It was a bad performance for Chelsea as they couldn’t manage to finish any of the chances and also threw a 1 goal lead given by Kai Havertz.

The first half was Chelsea and only Chelsea. Only a finish in net was missing, somehow they managed to score 1 for their own. Kai Havertz scored the goal after getting injured. He was pushed in the crowd when dribbling through the touchline.

Kante played James into acres of space down the right flank and the wing-back delivered a precise cross into the middle. Havertz coasted between Mee and Tarkowski before guiding his header into the bottom-left corner. Except for the goal half was silent. Also, Nick Pope did his best to save 3 shots towards him before the goal was scored.

The start of the second half was a header off the post headed by Thiago silva from the corner.

At 77th visitors were level as Chelsea paid for their lack of clinical edge. Lowton hooked a cross into the box towards the back post where Rodriguez unselfishly headed into the path of Vydra. The forward slotted his effort past Mendy to notch the equalizer for the Clarets.

Chelsea couldn’t do anything after the equalizer and dropped 2 points, receiving only 1 in their account.
