South Africa tour of Ireland. David Miller (75 runs from 44 balls) and Tabraiz Shamsi (4-0-13-3) star as South Africa takes the series. First T20I was not as competitive as we were hoping for. And after the result of the 1st match, it was unlikely for South Africa to lose the 2nd match too.

South Africa winning the toss and was batting first.

First Innings: David Miller and Wiaan Mulder star for SA to get 159/7.

Paul Sterling bowled the first for Ireland. After getting beaten on the first ball, Temba Bavuma(0 of 2 balls) was caught at backward point on the second ball. Janemman Malan(0 of 1) was out for golden duck trying to drive the ball. Joshua Little caught him at backward point. It was a horrendous start from South Africa. Aiden Markram(8 runs from 6 balls) crunched on the backfoot to drive the ball for a boundary. Mark Adair got his revenge at the next ball. It was a gorgeous ball, a hint of movement towards the batsman, and he was clean bowled. Although wickets were tumbling, de Kock was playing positively. In the 5th over he struck 3 boundaries to Joshua Little, who was bowling his first over.

Quinton(27 runs of 20 balls, 5(4)) was trapped in front of Simi Singh’s 1st ball of the powerplay and his first ball of the match. David Miller was playing run a ball just after getting on the crease. The last ball of the 10th over brought the wicket of Der Dussen(6 from 15 balls), caught behind, by the left-arm seamer Joshua Little. South Africa was 58/5 after 10 overs.

Miller and Wiaan Mulder started to build a partnership. They started to attack after the 12th over. The First 2 balls of the 17th over went for 10 as Mulder struck a six pulling the ball and a boundary in a similar fashion as well. Mulder(26 balls 36 runs, 2(4) 2(6)) was out in the 18th over. Craig Young was the bowler while the skipper taking the catch.

David Miller completed his 50 on the 2nd ball of the 19th over in 37 balls, just after hitting a six on the last delivery. Fortuin(5 runs from 4 balls) was gone caught at extra-cover trying to hit the ball to the fence. The last over drama started with a huge six from David Miller into the cow-corner region. Again a six at the long-on region on the 4th ball after no runs coming from the last 2 balls. Joshua Little missing the yorker and paying the price. Miller pulls the ball for a six crossing 150 for Africa. He will again hit a six on the last ball. Bowler again missing the mark and Miller this time hitting it straight down the ground. He will finish the innings scoring 75 runs from 44 balls hitting 5 sixes. It was the vintage miller.

For the bowling, Paul Sterling picked up 2 wickets giving just 12 runs from his 3 overs. Mark Adair would also take 2 wickets giving 33 runs from 4 overs. Simi Singh, Joshua Little, and Craig Young taking a wicket each.

Second Innings: Bad performance from the Ireland Bastman. All out for 117.

Africa started the proceedings with Fortuin, the left-arm spinner. He bowled a wicket maiden picking up Kevin O’Brien(0 of 2 balls) caught and bowled on the last ball of the over. Andrew Balbirnie(6 runs from 7 balls) scored a boundary from the 1st ball of the 5th over. But at the 2nd ball, he skyed the ball into the safe hands of de Kock to give Hendricks the wicket.

George Dockrell went for back-to-back boundaries in the 6th over giving Ireland fans the chance to cheer for the team. A nice catch from David Miller to dismiss Paul Sterling(19 from 23 balls, 1(4) 1(6)). Shamsi striking in his very first over. Markram came to the bowling crease and dismissed Harry Tector(3 of 3 balls). A superb diving catch from Bjorn Fortuin at short-extra-cover.

Shamsi struck again in his 2nd over. When George Dockrell(20 of 20, 1(4) 1(6)) decided to go ariel, he was caught just inside the boundary at long-on. Shane Getkate sent a half volley straight down the ground to six of Aiden Markram. Tucker reverse swept a similar ball for a four in the same 11th over. follow AUS vs WI here.

Getkate again went for a maximum over long-off. In the 13th over, Shamsi did the trick to take Getkate’s(24 runs from 18 balls, 1(4) 2(6)) wicket at short-mid-wicket. Tucker(12 runs from 10 balls) did not survive long when Fortuin cleaned him up in the 15th over. In the same over, Simi Singh(1 run of 3 balls) was stumped trying to go big stepping out the crease. Hendricks will get his 2nd wicket getting Craig Young(0 from 4) for none. The last wicket partnership of 18 came to an end when Ngidi bowled Joshua Little(9 runs from 11 balls).

Bjorn Fortuin and Tabraiz Shamsi took 3 wickets each. Beuran Hendricks taking 2 wickets. Lungi Ngidi and Aiden Markram got 1 each.

David Miller was awarded the Man of the Match award.
