First innings: England started where they ended.
The first over of England innings had both teams excited. Jason Roy scored a huge six and a boundary on the 2nd and 3rd ball. But Imad Wasim had the last laugh as at the very next ball he dismissed Jason Roy via a mishit at the point region. Dawid Malan struggles against Imad Wasim and was caught at short third man by Azam Khan. Moeen Ali and Jos Buttler continued the attack. Scoring rapidly and keeping the scoreboard moving. Moeen Ali scored 16 balls 36 runs with 6 boundaries and a six. Hasnain got the wicket of Moeen. Butler played fantastic innings, scoring runs in every direction. He departed after scoring 59 off 39 deliveries. Babar Azam caught him.
Bairstow came for a cameo and scored 13 runs from 7 balls. The pair of Shadab Khan and Fakhar Zaman took care of it. The last match hero for England, Liam Livingstone, scored huge sixes scoring 38 from 23 balls. We would have seen more if he would not have been run out by Azam Khan. England tail ender’s made enough effort reaching 200.
Muhammad Hasnain took 3 wickets giving 51 runs. Imad Wasim and Haris Rauf took 2 wickets each. While Shadab Khan and Shaheen Afridi got 1 each.
Second innings: Pakistan struggled to keep up against England’s bowling unit.
Pakistan started well. They scored 50 in 33 balls. At the 34 balls, However, Babar Azam looking to pull a short delivery but was beaten by pace. It was a quick one from Saqib Mahmood. Dawid Malan caught the catch at covers. Rizwan was looking good despite Babar’s wicket. Sohaib Maqsood did hit a long six before Adil Rashid stumped him. He only scored 15 from 10. Rizwan did not survive long. Adil Rashid took a good diving catch in the follow-through. It was hit hard too. Rizwan was the highest scorer with 37 runs from 29 deliveries. Hafeez looking to big only finding Johny Bairstow just inside the boundary. Fakhar Zaman stepped out to get beaten and bowled by Moeen Ali. Azam Khan also got stumped. Matt Parkinson got his wicket.
A good and quick partnership between Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan took place in the middle. Both were striking the ball well. Imad Wasim found Jason Roy in the field. It was Tom Curran’s first wicket of the match. Imad scored 20 runs from 13 balls. It was then just a matter of time before England finished the proceedings. They bowled out Pakistan with a total of 155.
The Bowling unit was excellent. Saqib Mahmood took 3 wickets. He is making a case for a regular spot in the team after the regular bowling unit arrives. The spin duo took 2 wickets each. Tom Curran and Matt Parkinson got each. With Tom Curran bowling very economically.
