Starc and Wade help Australia clinching the ODI series.

Mitchell Starc’s 3 wickets and Matthew Wade’s not-out innings Help Australia win the 3rd Odi. The series was leveled in the 2nd ODI. So it was the decider and so much drama to come. West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first. WI fight back in the 2nd ODI.

First Innings: Evin Lewis was the lone warrior for the West Indies.

Evin Lewis started his innings with a classy backfoot drive through the cover-point region in the 3rd over. But at the last ball of the 5th over, he had to retire because of the ball hitting the helmet. The ball skitted along the pitch taking the upper edge and onto the helmet.

Shimron Hetmyer drove the ball through the covers to open his account. But in the 8th over trying to defend on the backfoot Hetmyer(6 runs from 10 balls) chopped on getting bowled from Josh Hazlewood. Darren Bravo scored his first runs with a huge six over long-on. Mitchell Marsh taking a superb forward diving catch to get rid of Shai hope(14 runs from35 balls). Ashton agar’s flighted ball turned a bit and bounced from the pitch. When Hope tried to go over cover and edged the ball towards cover. West Indies score was 41/2 in 12.2 overs.

Nicholas Pooran(3 runs of 7 balls) made a blunder by leaving the ball pitched outside off. It was a good ball gone straight towards the stumps from Ashton Turner. Darren Bravo(18 runs from 36 balls, 1(6)) was caught at the covers, trying to replicate the six earlier but mistiming it. Starc was brought to awoke the rivalry between him and Pollard. Lewis returned and scored 50 put West Indies in a good position.

Evin Lewis was back to the crease. Jason holder(5 runs from 15 balls) was trying to go for a six on a full ball but missing it completely to get himself bowled. It was a lucky wicket for Adam Zampa. Evin Lewis continued his attack and scoring runs. Alzarri Joseph(15 runs of 42 balls) supported Lewis very well until Josh Hazlewood edged him to the keeper to break the partnership.

Hayden Walsh Jr(7 runs of 11 balls) was gone hitting the ball in the air and getting caught at mid-off. Akeal Hosein(3 runs of 13 balls) was stumped after being beaten from Zampa’s googly. Evin Lewis hitting 2 sixes to get to his 50. One against Starc and one against Zampa. It would turn out to be the last runs of the west indies innings as Starc got Cottrell(0 from 12 balls) with his trademark round the stump delivery. West Indies finished the innings with 146 onboard.

Starc finished with the figures 9.1-0-43-3. Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood, and Ashton Agar getting 2 wickets each. While Ashton Turner getting 1 wicket. South Africa vs Ireland: Miller hits 4 sixes in the last over.

Second Innings: Partnerships at regular interval took Australia towards victory

Australian innings started with Moises Henriques(1 run from 4 balls) getting LBW on Akeal Hosein’s seam-up delivery. Which was angling in. Alzarri Joseph got Josh Phillipe(10 runs of 23 balls) out with a soft dismissal caught behind down the leg side. A partnership between Alex Carey and Mitchell Marsh eased the pressure on the upcoming batsmen. With Mitchell Marsh playing a quicker inning.

Cotrell’s bouncer broke the partnership. Mitchell Marsh(29 runs from just 21 balls, 1(4) 1(6)) trying to pull the ball just hitting his gloves and to the keeper. Carey has then joined the company of Matthew Wade. Wade was looking very optimistic while batting. Hayden Walsh Jr’s ball in the 21st over struck on Carey pads while sweeping the ball. Umpire gave it not out which West Indies reviewed. It was 3 reds by the hawk-eye which means Alex Carey(35 runs from 30 balls, 3(4)) had to depart. Australia was 99/4 after Carey’s wicket.

It would turn out to be the last wicket of the match. Matthew Wade(51* runs from 52 balls, 5(4) 2(6)) and Ashton Agar(19* runs from 33 balls, 3(4)) stood strong till the end to ensure the victory. Man of the Match goes to Ashton Agar for his not-out innings and 2 wickets as well. On the other end, Mitchell Starc got the Player of the Series for his fiery spells and his habit of taking wickets at regular intervals.
