DC KKR: KKR wins another one

DC KKR: KKR’s decision to bowl first paid off huge. They bowled out DC for just 127 runs. Sunil Narine was again magical with his spell picking up Iyer and Lalit. Riders chasing a small target crossed the finish line with just three wickets in hand.

DC’s innings in a nutshell, DC KKR.

DC couldn’t finish with that large of a score with just 127 runs on board. Rishabh Pant (39 runs) and Steve Smith (39 runs) were the highest scorers for DC. No one after the dismissal of Steve Smith could stay on the pitch for long.

KKR was finest with their bowling power. Sunil Narine only gave 18 runs in his 4 over spell and also took 2 wickets. Venkatesh Iyer and Lockie Ferguson also took 2 wickets each off DC’s hands. Tim Southee also contributed and took 1 wicket of his own. Varun Chakravarthy was very strong economically in this match and the previous one too where he kept them in front.

Shikhar Dhawan too gave a helping hand in for DC for this score. He contributed 24 runs to the board. But unfortunately, couldn’t continue his innings after the 4th over. 6 wickets were taken by KKR in just the last 50 runs scored by DC.

Lockie Ferguson was the most successful on his side. In just 2 overs he managed to take 2 wickets while giving only 10 runs. He send back both the opener, Steve Smith and Shikhar Dhawan, who were on decent form and could help their team to score more if they played for a longer time. 

KKR somehow managed to cross the line.

Avesh Khan was the pick of the bowler initiating a fightback to defend a small total. He got in form Rahul Tripathi, Dinesh Karthik, and Tim Southee to keep DC in the hunt.

Shubman Gill(30) and Nitish Rana’s(36*) knock floats the boat for KKR. With Nitish finishing the innings not out, with two sixes and two fours.

Sunil Narine’s destructive cameo was too hard for DC to recover. He scored 21 runs from mere 10 balls with two huge hits into the stands and also picking up the man of the match award.

DC kept getting wickets but it was never looking comfortable for them. They were 15 to 20 runs short of a total which on that pitch was defendable.

What does KKR’s win change? DC KKR

KKR moves into the top 4 with the win, and it is likely to stay like that for at least today.

DC didn’t change much but they will feel their momentum breaking after an embarrassing loss.
