Chelsea’s attacker Olivier Giroud has finished his move to the Serie A runner-up the team confirmed Saturday. The 34-year-old world cup winner went for a medical Friday before signing for AC Milan. They returned to the champions league after 7 years.

“AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Olivier Jonathan Giroud on a permanent transfer from Chelsea,” the club said in a statement without giving details of the duration which Italian media reported is for two years. “The French striker will be wearing the number 9 jersey,” the statement added.
Despite renewing his contract with the blues till June 2022, the player decided to move away from Stamford bridge. After getting only eight Premier League appearances last season.

“Our victories in the FA Cup, Europa League, and Champions League have been magnificent,” he added.
Giroud is expected to rotate with the Swedish star, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is undergoing recovery from knee surgery. Who is uncertain about starting in the coming campaign.
With Chelsea he scored 39 goals in 119 appearances. Also winning FA Cup, Europa League in 2019, and champions league last season.
