IPL 2021, SRH vs PBKS: Punjab Kings defends a low score of mere 126 runs to throw Hyderbad out of playoff hunt. Ravi Bishnoi tore Hyderabad’s bowling attack with his mysterious bowling.
Jason Holder was the star of the show both with bat and ball. Given the responsibility in the fifth over, he claimed both openers in a span of 5 balls. Just being shy of 50 runs, his unbeaten innings pushed the game to the last over. However, Nathan Ellis held the West Indian all tied up. Man of the Match award was given to Holder.
Aiden Markram was another batter for Punjab who got the start but failed to convert it into a long score. Gifting his wicket to the part-timer Abdul Samad on a full toss ball.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s last over changed the course of the match giving away 13 runs. SRH bowling was nothing short of a splendid effort but their batting disappoints again.
Having faced Rashid Khan in the nets SRH batter would have been good facing Ravi Bishnoi. However, it seemed that Bishnoi was nearly impossible to pick. Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, and Abdul Samad were all failed to understand Bishnoi’s googlies especially.
The Indian opener held one end nicely till the 17th over, when he fell from a big mix-up between him and Holder. Having faced this many deliveries, SRH would have hoped more from Saha(31).
A bad form continues for Australian campaigner, David Warner, when Shami found an edge with a very wide delivery outside the off-stump. The man who could have made this chase possible, Kane Williamson, was also thrown back to the dugout by Shami.
With bowling at his best, Rashid Khan fails to support Holder. Getting the wicket of Universe Boss and only giving away 17 runs was big for SRH.
With the last over to go and only 17 runs needed, Nathan Ellis was given the task to hold on. Holder smashing a six over the long-on fence. But it was the last boundary as Ellis provides much more accurate bowling to finish the match, winning by 5 runs.
