MI PBKS: Punjab batting fails again.

Aiden Markram(42) will be the one for whom teams will be waiting in the next year’s auction. His batting is consistent and making a lot of runs too. Playing a very sharp knock Aiden gave PBKS a total to defend.

Bumrah is always terrifying for the batsman to face. Picking up two wickets in his four overs. A full toss on the pads which Pooran could not react to sent him to the pavilion. While Hooda trying to accelerate the innings was caught at the long-off region.

Deepak Hooda made an impact that benefitted PBKS comparing the low total. His knock included a Handsome six over mid wickets boundary. Considering the last match he performed much better.

The majority of the damage was done by the West Indian Maestro, who got rid of Punjab’s skipper KL Rahul and his countryman who is always a threat for the opponent Chris Gayle.

Harpreet Brar tried at last to power the innings but could not find a way to counter the mighty bowling at the death by Mumbai. They managed to get on 135 on board.

MI wins one but PBKS could have compited better.

Saurabh Tiwari(45) is at the moment the go-to man for Mumbai Indians. He powered the innings when MI needed the most. Just falling short of 50, his knock was not less than 50.

MI PBKS: Ravi Bishnoi while Bowling.

Ravi Bishnoi’s destructive bowling diluted the MI top order. Picking up the captain Rohit Sharma and then a golden duck wicket of Suryakumar Yadav. Every team is now looking for at least one mysterious spinner, and Punjab has got one.

Hardik Pandya gave Mumbai the end they needed. Finding his form with two huge sixes over the mid-wicket boundary. Opportunity arrived for Punjab to gather the innings around but they let it go with ordinary fielding effort.

Aiden Markram was handy with his three overs, solely brought to get de Kock out. His three overs went for 18 runs only.

Punjab could not stop Mumbai from returning back into the winning columns. MI winning the match by 6 wickets with the table tightening up in the middle.

MI PBKS post match interviews.

KL Rahul.

“It was a great fight from us. But 135 was not enough and we should have posted 170 but we have done well to show fight and the next two games will be exciting for us. We have not been able to handle pressure in the middle but we will learn over time.

“We tried to stay positive and we take one game at a time. We just enjoy playing cricket and we do not think much of the result. We just tell the boys to enjoy the game as well.”

Rohit Sharma.

We didn’t play to our potential but we stick to each other during this time. We have been in a similar situation previously and we learn from it. We have a brilliant squad and they play well when asked to.

He praises Pandya on the way he played, “he is coming after an injury so he needed some time on the middle.” Ishan Kishan drop remark, “It was a tough call to take but he will back when needed.”

“The track is definitely better than what I played in England. The grass is coming off the pitch and it was a good batting pitch. Pollard had been a key player for so long and today he delivered.”
