Pro Kabaddi League 2021, Bengaluru: After an exciting first day of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League 2021, the second day was as intriguing too.
Gujarat Giants left some pieces out in the auction and were with a completely different raiding unit. However, adding valuable players in the defensive zones started their season run with a win against Jaipur Pink Panthers.
Dabang Delhi impressed one another too. Naveen Kumar as usual came out with a 16 point powerpack performance. The Puneri Paltan were unable to match as Nitin Tomar and Telugu Titans superstar Rahul Chaudhary bought for 40 Lakh in PKL 2021 Auction, failed to run along.
The three-times champion, Patna Pirates, found their rhythm early in the match thus making pressure on the Haryana Steelers. Monu Goyat starred with 15 points while Rohit Gulia’s super 10 wasn’t enough to overcome Patna Pirates.
Pro Kabaddi League 2021 highlights: Gujarat Giants’ giant defense.
Although Gujarat lost their key raiders in the PKL 2021 auction, they found compensation in their youth and new defenders.
Jaipur Panthers were decent in raiding, outscoring Giants 16-14. Giants on the other end, stayed in touch in the raiding department as the real deal was their rock-solid defense.
The new recruiter, Ravinder Pahal(bought for 74 Lakhs) and Girish Ernak(bought for 20 Lakhs) were outstanding. Ernak had a dream debut with 7 pointer outing.
Arjun Deshwal(the most expensive player in the Panthers squad) delivered a super-10. However, when it came to defense they were muscled out by six points.
The game, however, was tight but in the end, it was Gujarat’s defense dragging themselves up with 34-27 final score. Pro Kabaddi League 2021 highlights, Match 4, Gujarat Giants vs Jaipur Pink Panthers.
Pirates from Patna steals the show against the Steelers.
The farewell of Pardeep Narwal has not hindered the Pirate as they closed out a tight game against Haryana. Monu Goyat(Bought for just 20 Lakh, A BARGAIN!) scores 15 points and makes every team question their Pro Kabaddi League 2021’s auction strategy.
Patna Pirates relied on their attack as they have always done. They were able to outscore Haryana by 5 raid points. However, Steelers with the trust in their defense took that five points back outscoring 14-9 tackle points.
Rohit Gulia led Haryana with a super 10. While Jaideep Kuldeep grabbed a high-five. The extra points for the Patna Pirates made all the difference as it was the last point difference.
Vikash Kandola couldn’t gain his rhythm and could only manage 6 points while Prashant Rai, promoted as the new captain, scored 7 points and got aided from Sachin’s 7 points.
Steelers would feel a bit disappointed as it could have been a bit better. Pro Kabaddi League 2021 highlights, Match 6, Haryana Steelers vs Patna Pirates.
Pro Kabaddi League 2021 highlights: Naveen Kumar plays Dabang.
The Dabang Delhi KC totally outperformed out-of-sync Puneri Paltan. In every department, Delhi was superior.
The Paltan didn’t perform as per their squad. Having Rahul Chaudhary, Nitin Tomar and still struggling in the raiding department is worrisome.
On the other end, Delhi has made certain adjustments and brought new players. Although, new players have arrived their core including Naveen Kumar is the same. Out of 25 raid points, Delhi scored, 16 came from Naveen’s raid.
The addition of Sandeep Narwal and Manjeet Chillar has benefitted them. Both these all-rounders have proven match-winning abilities and can turn the game around at any time.
Coming back to the match, Delhi easily carried out a win and nothing Puneri Paltan could do. Anup Kumar now has to go back to the drawing board and plan out strategies.
