Chelsea finds themselves at the top of the table after defeating Newcastle.

Premier League: Chelsea eases past Newcastle United in their Premier League clash at St James’ Park with a 3-0 victory.

Reece James was the star of the show in front of the goal with two brilliant finishes before Jorginho added a third from the penalty spot after Kai Havertz was fouled in the box.

Thomas Tuchel’s men extend their lead at the top of the table with their triumph this afternoon, while Newcastle extends their winless run to 10 league matches.

All the drama was held in the second half of the match, with Hakim Ziyech hitting the post at the start of the and second half and the 3 goals scored. The first half was played very passively by Chelsea. Just a few chances to score but missed by the players in front of the keeper.

Only possession play was to be found in the first half. Hakim Ziyech scored the goal in the first half but was ruled out by the referee as he was in an offside position. Ziyech also missed an open chance ahead of the keeper, crossed by Reece James, he had just had to tap it in but fired it over the bar.

It was goalless at the break in the Premier League clash between Newcastle United and Chelsea at St James’ Park. Both teams had struggled for inspiration in the final third. The Blues did have a goal disallowed for offside, although Hakim Ziyech was well beyond the last men when he produced the finish.

As soon as the second half started Chelsea were on the front foot as they knocked on the Newcastle door with a shot hitting the post. And many shots were fired at the keeper.

It was at the 65th minute, Reece James scored the first goal of the match. Hudson Odoi came down the left side with the ball and crossed it in the middle which falls for James. Who is unmarked and is given the time and space to volley it in the top left corner of the goal.

Chelsea made it 2-0 in the 77th minute, as Reece hames scored again. It was a replica of the first goal. Kai Havertz and Ross Barkley construct it well before Loftus cheeck comes for support and tries to shoot but gets blocked. The ball falls for Reece James who volleys it again in the top right corner of the goal.

Chelsea received a penalty in the 81st minute. Even though reece was for a hat-trick chance Jorginho came at the spot for the penalty. He did his traditional stutter and fired it high in the middle of the goal to make it 3-0.
