AUS vs BAN 2021: It’s Australia tour of Bangladesh. The host dominated the series with a 4-1 lead. Australia’s batting stumbled again after a disappointing series against West Indies. Drama on day 5 as Ind vs Eng 1st test was drawn.
A nightmare series for Australia. Aus vs Ban 2021.
1st T20: Bangladesh 131/7, Australia 108/10.
Australia won the toss and decided to bowl in the first T20. Their plan succeeded, holding of the host to just 131/7 in 20 overs. Shakib al Hasan was the highest scorer for Bangladesh with 36 runs from 33 balls. Mohammad Naim also contributed with his 30 runs from 29 balls. Josh Hazlewood picked 3 wickets, 2 wickets for Starc, and 1 wicket for Adam Zampa and Andrew Tye.
Chasing 132, Australia was wrapped up for just 108. The highest scorer being Mitchell Marsh with 45 runs from 45 balls. Nasum Ahmed took 4 wickets, while Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam got 2 wickets each. Nasim Ahmed was awarded Man of the Match. Not so much of a game to start an away series for Australia.
2nd T20: Australia 121/7, Bangladesh 123/5.
Australia winning the toss again and this time deciding to bat first. Mitchell Marsh scored 45 runs from 42 balls being the highest scorer. Henriques supported him with 30 runs. Mustafizur Rahman taking 3 wickets and Shoriful Islam getting 2 wickets. Australia reaching 121/7 in 20 overs.
Bangladesh steadily chased down this run-a-ball target. With 2 early wickets, Bangladesh was also in trouble. But Shakib Al Hasan and Mahedi Hasan pushed them ahead. Finishing touches were added by Afif Hossain and Nurul Hasan scoring 37* runs from 31 balls and 22* runs from 21 balls respectively. Afif Hossain was given the Man of the Match award.
3rd T20: Bangladesh 127/9, Australia 117/4.
Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first. A crucial match for Australia. Bangladesh managed to score 127 losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. 1st half-century of the series came from the bat of Mahmudullah 52 runs from 53 balls. And with Shakib’s 26 runs they passed the 120 run mark. Nathan Ellis took 3 wickets, while Hazlewood and Zampa took 2 wickets each.
Ben Mcdermott and Mitchell Marsh’s partnership looked promising. Mitchell Marsh scoring the first half-century for Australia 51 runs from 47 balls. But it wasn’t enough to 128. Tidy bowling from the hosts cramped Australia for runs. Shoriful Islam got 2 wickets. Mahmudullah got the Man of the Match.
4th T20: Bangladesh 104-9, Australia 105-7
Bangladesh’s decision to bat after winning the toss went horrible. Swepson and Tye swept over the batsman to hold Bangladesh at 104 with their 3 wickets each. Naim being the highest scorer for the Bangladesh team with 28 runs. Late bloom from Mahedi Hasan took Bangladesh past 100.
In reply, Australia did not have easy at all. Chasing 105 they lost 7 wickets. Very tidy bowling from Bangladesh bowlers. Mahedi Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman took2 wickets each. For Australia, Dan Christian went hard with 5 sixes scoring 29 runs from just 15 balls. Ashton Agar was another notable scorer with 27 runs from 27 balls. Mitchell Swepson was awarded the Man of the Match.
5th T20: Bangladesh 122-8, Australia 62-10.
Bangladesh won the toss and again decided to bat first. With the team effort, they managed to reach 122 losing 8 wickets. With 6 players scoring in double figures. Nathan Ellis and Dan Christian took 2 wickets each.
Horrorshow from Australia’s batting order as they bowled out for 62. Matthew Wade scoring 22 from 22 balls and Ben McDermott scored 17 from 16 balls were the only two-player in double-digit. Shakib Al Hasan picked up 4 wickets while Mohammad Saifuddin took 3 wickets to outclass Australia.
