A small but good to look at partnership was broken by Mohammed Shami. His inswinger found the inside edge of Keegan Petersen’s bat, who was batting nicely, to disrupt the stumps.

Aiden Markram would fall in a similar condition but no bat was involved this time around. The ball, however, kept a bit low and that did the trick for Shami and India. Mohammed Siraj’s first wicket on South African soil in the form of Rassie Van der Dussen caught in the gully.

The next partnership displayed the experience of Bavuma and de Kock. A 72 runs stand and a must-needed one. Lord Shardul broke that vital partnership and gave India a chance to wrap up the innings.
