IPL 2021 has been an interesting journey for the players and as well as for the fans. This edition started in India and then due to the COVID-19 crisis it had to be shifted to UAE.

Challenges were different, pitches were different, players were missing, team chemistry was missing but available was the same excitement in the fans to know the IPL 2021 champion.

Along with the champions we witness some young talent with extraordinary performance along the way. Here we will look at the statistics and top performances of IPL 2021.

Ruturaj Gaikwad
Most Runs: Orange Cap

Ruturaj Gaikwad – 635 runs

Faf du Plessis – 633 runs

KL Rahul – 626 runs

No doubt now why CSK won the title! Their openers were as consistent. Feels good that KL Rahul is on this list. This man is a gem for India.

Most Fours:

Ruturaj Gaikwad: 64 fours.

Shikhar Dhawan: 63 fours.

Faf du Plessis: 60 fours.

Just stop it Ruturaj, he is everywhere! I wonder how many times I have to write his name.

Most Sixes:

KL Rahul: 30 sixes

Faf du Plessis: 23 sixes

Ruturaj Gaikwad: 23 sixes

That is what I meant. Anyways, KL Rahul is effortless in sixes, no doubt he is in top.

Most fifties:

Faf du Plessis: 6

KL Rahul: 6

Glenn Maxwell: 6

Glenn Maxwell has to be respected. This was his season to perform and he did it style. RCB reaching the playoffs, Maxwell was the key.

Most Hundreds:

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikkal, and Jos Buttler all had the century moment in this edition. All of them feel special to their teams. Can’t pick one.

RR MI: Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan.
Fastest Fifties:

Ishan Kishan: 16 balls

Kieron Pollard: 17 balls

Prithvi Shaw: 18 balls

Here they come! Hard hitters as they are often called. Kishan showed his class but from MI’s perspective, it was a little too late. While Prithvi Shaw failed to show his magic in the latter part of the tournament when it was needed.

Fastest Hundred:

Devdutt Padikkal: 51 balls

Sanju Samson: 54 balls

Jos Buttler: 56 balls

Ruturaj Gaikwad: 60 balls

Remember the names, they will be there every time. What do you think?

Biggest six goes to Ruturaj Gaikwad – 108M, which helped him reach his hundred.
MI vs RCB: Harshal Patel celebrating his hat trick.
Harshal Patel.

Bowling Records: IPL 2021

Most Wickets: Purple Cap

Harshal Patel: 32 wickets

Avesh khan: 24 wickets

Jasprit Bumrah: 21 wickets

This territory is not new for Jasprit Bumrah, but the other two were outstanding and deserved their place. Avesh khan in particular, took off in the latter part of the tournament. Harshal was the golden arm for RCB. Do you want wickets? get Harshal in.

Most Dot balls:

Avesh khan: 156 dot balls

Varun Chakravarthy: 149 dot balls

Mohammed Siraj: 147 dot balls

This is the stat I always look to access the bowlers. The more dot balls you can bowl the better the team performs. Avesh Khan and Mohammed Siraj were noticeable to this list. Varun Chakravarthy is also expected however, I feel for a spinner to get this many dot balls is commendable.

Best Bowling figures:

Andre Russell: 5-15 (2 overs)

Harshal Patel: 5-27 (4 overs)

Arshdepp Singh: 5-32 (4 overs)

Remembering the moments every spell seems special. However, KKR missed Andre Russell in the finals. Would Russell had played what do you think would have happened?

Fastest Balls:

Lockie Ferguson: 153.63 KMPH

Umran malik: 152.95 KMPH

Lockie Ferguson: 152.75 KMPH

Here comes “ROBOTS”, as I like to call them! Umran Malik was impressive in the matches he was given the opportunity. On the other end, Lockie is known for that type of stuff.

Player of the series, MVP: IPL 2021

Harshal Patel: 264.5 pts

Ravindra Jadeja: 263 pts

Faf du Plesis: 260.5 pts

Ruturaj Gaikwad: 255.5 pts

KL Rahul: 263.5 pts

This was the summary of the IPL 2021. Some surprises while some expected stats to be seen. Sourced from IPL’s Official site.

Hope the article helped you.
