The match was reduced to 47 overs due to rain right from the start. Both batters started well. They were scoring at a healthy rate. Before Karunaratne got Aiden Markram caught behind.
Reeza Hendricks was picked for the match and he did strike on call with 50 runs. The partnership of 96 runs between Malan and Reeza took the match in their direction.
Meanwhile, Malan completed his 3rd ODI century in 126 balls. Well played innings from the South African opener.
Heinrich Klaasen’s late cameo show took place after Rassie van der Dussen departed. The South African wicketkeeper showed his scoops shot and his skills to hit big playing electric cricket. It took South Africa to 283/6.
Dushmantha Chameera and Chamika Karunaratne took 2 wickets each, while Wanindu Hasaranga and Dhananjaya de Silva got 1 wicket each.

Shamsi sent half Srilankan team back to pavillion SL vs SA.
Not a good performance from the Srilankan batting unit. As they were bowled out on 197. The rain made its appearance again during the 2nd innings and overs were further reduced to 41 overs.
Kagiso Rabada and Wiaan Mulder damaged the Srilankan frontline with early bombarding. Only Charith Asalanka (77 runs from 69 balls, 5(4) 3(6)) managed to reach 50 runs mark, None other batter performed as per the expectation.
After the pace attack, the spin trio of Shamsi, Linde, and Maharaj completely out shadowed Srilanka. World’s number 1 T20 bowler, Tabraiz Shamsi, took 5 wickets to throw the opponent into pieces.
Other noticeable performance for Srilanka includes skipper, Dasun Shanaka’s (30 from 41 balls, 2(4)), 30 runs, and Chamika’s (36 runs from 23 balls, 1(4) 2(6)) 36 runs. Chamika had a similar cameo as Klaasen had. But it was not enough at all.
