CSK vs SRH Highlights, IPL 2021: MS Dhoni finishes off the game and seals a playoff berth for CSK. Batting needs to step up for SRH as they fail to deliver again.
Josh Hazlewood starred the show with his three wickets only giving 24 runs in his 4 overs. Not giving any chance to the SRH batting to score freely.
For SRH, the only batter to play a helpful innings was Wriddhiman Saha(44). off to a flying start but wickets tumbling on the other end, made him anchor the innings slowing his run rate.
Hyderabad skipper, Kane Williamson was tricked by the West Indian trapping him in front with a pacey fuller delivery. Bravo was brilliant in his spell as well. Getting wickets when SRH looked to bounce back and not giving anything in return.
Two Indian batters looked promising but were unable to go long way ahead, especially Abdul Samad. Rashid Khan gave a nice little boost to the innings at the end with his unusual batting.
They were unable to come up with a total which they would have liked to post a healthy fight. David Warner will not be playing any more matches for SRH this season as he is not happy with the team management. SRH closed the innings on 134 runs.
The opening stand made an early charge towards the small-looking target with Ruturaj Gaikwad(45) in top-notch form. On the other end, former South African captain, Faf du Plesis(41) contributed unrestricted.
Jason Holder carried his last match heroic bowling performance into this match as well, sending both openers as well as Suresh Raina to the pavilion.
It looked as if SRH could have a chance to fight back but MS Dhoni’s presence defused it. With the help of Ambati Rayudu, he finished it off with three balls to spare.
The Indian swing king, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is not at all in the rhythm he is hoping for. He has only 5 wickets in this edition of the IPL and most importantly, his rhythm will also play a part in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Post match interviews.
Faf du Plesis.
“The humidity was a bit too much today. I did a lot of work before the tournament to stay fit and it helped me in running from long-off to long-on. The balance our the team is very good and the batting depth is quite deep as well. Moeen Ali has been a good addition to the side and Jadeja does a really good job for us in the middle overs.”
Kane Williamson.
“The first half wasn’t their best and the surface wasn’t easy to bat on. We tried our best and we need to make minor adjustments to get over the line. We were good with the bat in the powerplay and the young players did put an effort in the end but it wasn’t enough and it was always going to be difficult against Chennai. The wicket was very similar in both innings and Chennai are a class side with another great performance. It’s tough competition and every team has their losses, we just need to pick ourselves up again and keep going.”
MS Dhoni.
“This qualification means a lot after what happened in the last season. A lot of things didn’t go our way in the last season but we did not make excuses and have taken responsibility. The wicket was a difficult one and the bounce was a bit tricky on this surface. The bowlers adjusted well by changing their lengths and pace. With a bit of dew, it got a bit easier to bat on but the bounce did not change much. The team is very proud of the fans they have but wants them to still be humble at this stage.”
Josh Hazlewood.
“He is really satisfied that the hard work in training paid off today and I am learning a lot under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. Roy’s wicket was important as he can be very dangerous and that set the tone nicely. The wicket was on the slower side and we had to adjust. I am learning a lot too playing under Bravo.”
