Premier League: Man City eases their way to a 2-0 win over Manchester United in their Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
An own goal from Eric Bailly put the visitors ahead in the early stages of the contest before Bernardo Silva added a second on the stroke of halftime.
City could have added to the scoreline but was denied by David de Gea and the post when Phil Foden clipped an effort off the frame. City are back on track and moves two points behind Chelsea at the top of the table.
The start was off the table for Manchester City, scoring the first goal of the match in the 7th minute of the game against bitter rivals. The visitors take the lead as Bailly inadvertently turned Cancelo’s cross past De Gea.
United was cut open by a dangerous cross from Walker on the right flank that Gundogan just couldn’t connect with at the back post. City recycled possession before Cancelo collects on the left. He put in a precise delivery that Bailly steered into the United goal. A nightmare for the Ivorian.
De Gea worked his magic in this game too he managed to save 5 shots towards the goal one of them came off his own teammate. He saved 5 shots in a span of 4 minutes. But couldn’t keep that work on.
At the 44th minute of the game just before halftime, The Portuguese, Bernardo Silva, coasted in at the back post to latch on to Cancelo’s cross and poked it through De Gea and into the bottom-right corner.
The Spaniard had been excellent in the first half, but he allowed a tame effort from the Portuguese to slip through his grasp into the net. It was a huge moment in the game.
The second half ended with no goal on board with just chances on City’s side. Phil Foden Hitting post once with de Bruyn’s volley went wide. Every shot taken by City was either wide or saved by David De Gea.
Manchester United got its first corner in the 95th minute of the game but couldn’t make use of it and the final whistle was blown.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been the saving Man United but this time around his magic didn’t work. He was seen frustrated during the encounter.
